Turncrest Stables’ summer camps offer an unforgettable experience for kids aged 7 and up who love horses or want to learn more about them! Designed for all skill levels, our camps combine riding lessons with hands-on activities that teach essential horsemanship skills like grooming, tacking up, and bathing. Campers will also explore fun and educational topics such as horse care, breeds, and colors. With a welcoming environment and expert instructors, kids will build confidence, make new friends, and create lasting memories with horses.
Summer Camp Offerings
Beginner Rider Camp
Perfect for: Kids ages 7 and up with little to no prior riding experience.
Introduce your child to the exciting world of horseback riding! In this camp, beginners will learn the basics of riding, including grooming, tacking up, and caring for their horse. Through fun, hands-on lessons, campers will explore horse breeds, colors, and behavior. The week is rounded out with engaging games, arts and crafts, and plenty of time in the saddle in a friendly, supportive environment.
Intermediate Rider Camp
Perfect for: Riders ages 7 and up who are comfortable at the walk and trot.
This camp is designed for riders ready to take their skills to the next level. Campers will refine their walk and trot techniques, learn the fundamentals of cantering, and gain more confidence in the saddle. Riders will also develop their horsemanship skills, work with different horses, and enjoy a mix of riding styles, including Western and Hunt Seat. The week ends with an exciting demonstration show where campers can showcase their progress!
Advanced Rider Camp
Perfect for: Experienced riders ages 7 and up who are confident at the walk and trot and ready to progress to cantering.
For skilled riders looking to challenge themselves, this camp offers advanced instruction in mastering the canter, improving balance, and tackling more complex riding exercises. Campers will ride a variety of horses, practice both Western and Hunt Seat styles, and deepen their knowledge of horse management. The camp includes fun activities like games and crafts and concludes with a demo show highlighting the campers’ achievements.
Weekly Lesson Camp
Perfect for: Riders of all levels who want regular, ongoing instruction.
Our Weekly Lesson Camp provides a flexible option for riders to grow their skills throughout the summer. Held every Wednesday from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, these sessions focus on riding fundamentals, skill development, and horse care education. It’s a fantastic opportunity for consistent, hands-on learning in a supportive and structured environment.
